Artistic Director, Extreme Convention
interviewed 17 July 2016 in Ghent —

Every year Antwerp's Extreme Convention gathers around 1000 acrobats to a gigantic warehouse for three days of workshops, professional exchange, and kicking about. Parallel to the Convention, the organisers run Atlas Festival — a chance for attendees to see some professional shows in the evenings. At this point, the Convention is as big as the team want it to be (at least for Antwerp; they're considering holding editions in other cities) and they do little explicit work to market the Convention. The success of the event, and the enthusiasm of attendees, is testament to the fact that it's not always so hard to get the word out within the circus world: it's a small field, and when it comes to training, people are motivated.
